The time limit gives Herzlinger and his crew of dedicated friends a small window of opportunity to work with and the viewer some much needed drama to drive the film.What makes the My Date such an enjoyable 90 minutes isn't so much Herzlinger, who truth be told is rather loathsome initially, but the lengths this ordinary dude goes to in order to achieve his dream.But that doesn't stop Brian and his film school pals from doing everything they can think of to convince Barrymore to go out with him - and documenting their quest along the way.
