Updating hardware

(If you have Pro or Enterprise, though, we recommend using the Group Policy Editor, as described later in this article.) This should prevent Windows 10 Home from installing driver updates, but Microsoft could change this behavior at any time and ignore this setting on Windows 10 Home.

Many Armbian images come in two flavours : Legacy (using an older kernel version) and mainline (up-to-date kernel).Depending on kernel version, the procedure to enable/disable features is not the same : command at the end of boot script (boot.cmd).It will still not "automatically" update drivers without you manually performing the driver update by choice. If you have build 1151 or later, the option to do that is no longer present so you only have a choice between automatic updating or no updating.Remember to recompile to and note that changes will come into action after second boot. It’s a standard Hitachi HD44780 based 20×4 LCD, wired and tested according to Wiring(B)PI example.

Best way to know is by checking your kernel version : Reboot Notice that /dev/tty S3 appears. I tried three different display connection types: I2C, (4bit) parallel and SPI. I2C I am using this code for mainline kernel and with changed line: /dev/i2c-%u = /dev/i2c-2 for Legacy kernel.

Note that your hardware drivers may still be updated by Windows Update in some situations.

Driver updates may be bundled with security updates or feature updates, according to Microsoft’s documentation.

Driver Tuner™ can help you fix driver issues to keep your PC in a healthy state in just a few minutes!

The quicker you get Driver Tuner™, the sooner your driver troubles will be gone! Driver Tuner™ can help you update the old drivers with the latest drivers for your computer and increase the ease at which you can run the latest CPU-intensive software such as games.

We can only hope Microsoft will change this automatic forced update feature to not include drivers at some point, but I wouldn't bet the house on it.
